Goodman Marsh is an end-to-end marketing agency, providing its clients with full marketing solutions and strategy. GM 2.0 Is the Web Design division of the organisation.
For GM 2.0 we are offering internships for both undergraduates and postgraduates.
Key features of the role
GM 2.0 designs, delivers and operates cutting edge web solutions for high profile clients across a wide variety of industry sectors such as media, retail, communications, financial services, utilities and government.
Demand for these services is growing rapidly and we are currently looking for talented web designers and developers to join us on an internship basis. Internships will typically run from between 3 to 12 months. It is at the end of your internship that you will be considered for a full-time contract.

What we are looking for
We are looking for passionate, talented developers and designers who have experience in server side or client side web development. Successful applicants will be expected to design and write robust, scalable, high-performance code for dynamic web applications used in business critical services. The role will involve spending a large proportion of time at various locations so flexibility with location is essential. We are looking for confident candidates who can manage their own time productively both in a team environment and working alone. We are also looking for our candidates to have a confident eye for design and be comfortable with submitting design ideas client-side.
Example responsibilities
•Working as part of a team to design and implement enterprise level dynamic web applications such as media portals, content management systems, e-commerce sites or banking portals.
•Translation of User Stories into source code on various technical platforms and within waterfall or agile delivery environments.
•Integration of established 3rd party services such as video content management solutions, web analytics or commercial transaction service providers.
•The design of front-end website applications
Typical skills of successful applicants
•Development experience using common server side or client side web technologies such as Java EE, XML, JavaScript or HTML / CSS and of relational databases.
•Experience of using MVC frameworks such as Spring, Struts 2 and data access layers such as Hibernate.
•Experience working with third party web APIs, e.g. REST, SOAP, JSON/XML interfaces.
•Experience of common design patterns and design techniques.
•Experience of project working and commercial web development processes.
•Awareness of modern trends in web technology and functionality.
•Experience in the use of Adobe Photoshop
•Experience in the use of Adobe Flash Maker/Player
