Steward and Caterer
Job Description:
Blackburn Golf Club
Steward and Caterer Required
The Steward (employed) will undertake and manage the provision of bar and house services to members, visitors and guests. Experience in managing a bar with turnover of 130 + barrels per annum and associated spirits and wine sales would be advantageous together with bar staff management. Respectful of traditions of golf and of the club but appreciative of modern commercial realities, you will combine warm, professional hospitality with cost conscious, flexible and hands-on ways for yourself and staff. Compliance with health and safety and premises security requirements will also be required. A competitive salary is offered.
The Catering Franchisee (self employed) will provide a comprehensive service ranging from breakfasts, daily bar menu, meals for visiting parties, club functions and private functions for which the club is rapidly gaining a positive reputation. This position carries the opportunity to develop a good business with improved clubhouse usage to members and visitors by offering excellent service and a fresh approach while maintaining traditional golf club services. Appropriate experience and qualifications will be required. Profits from catering, after a modest franchise fee, will be retained by the franchisee.
Both appointees would be part of the team managing the daily clubhouse routines and would be expected to have the desire to work in an environment of continuous improvement.
Further, a three bedroom flat is available and it would be expected to be occupied for management and security purposes, at no cost to the appointees.
