Literature Festival Internship Placements

at Richmond Arts Service (Orleans House Gallery, Riverside, Twickenham TW1 3DJ) Part Time Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Job Description:

Richmond upon Thames literature festival is looking for 2 bright and enthusiastic interns to assist with the preparations for and smooth running of it’s literature events throughout October and November. The successful candidates will have experience in marketing, live events

and a keen interest in literature and general arts culture.

The placement is for 2-3 days a week and will consist of some weekend dates. Interns will be part of the Richmond upon Thames council arts events team and will based at Orleans house gallery, whilst working at events in various venues across the borough.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

All interns will be expected to undertake duties and responsibilities associated with all posts and all interns will be required to be a flexible team member, providing support and assistance as and when required. Specific duties and responsibly will vary according the specific post.

The Festival intern will assist the Arts Co-ordinator and Assistant with the general co-ordination and management of the literature festival.

Duties and responsibilities may include:-

Assisting with general festival administration

Practical co-ordinating of festival events

Developing and implementing marketing

Press and distribution plans

Dealing with personal enquires from members of the public

Undertaking consultation and project evaluation and report writing

The intern will be managed by either the Arts Co-ordinator or the Festival Co-ordinator. This is an unpaid internship but you will be entitled to claim for travel expenses by public transport to and from your place of work.
