Junior Web Developer and Content Manager

at Digital Animal (Birmingham, UK) Full Time Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Job Description:

We are a web development company currently highly focused on the music industry and slowly moving in to other areas of online business. Historically we have provided a bespoke CMS enabling bands, artists and labels to sell their music and be chart registered while doing it.

We are a rapidly changing company and need someone who is excited by the prospect of working their way up in the company and who doesnt mind getting stuck in when needed.

There are only 2 criterias you need to fullfill to be considered for this role.

1. You have a “techy” background. Preferably in web development.

2. You are willing to learn.

Here’s what we need you to do-

Be in charge of managing content for a number of high profile clients.

This includes working with content ingestion scripts to weekly ingest content from a number of providers.

You will also (eventually) head up all content related issues not just relating to our bespoke CMS but also with other open source content management systems. (So any work you have done with WordPress or CMS Made Simple is a huge bonus!)

You will also liase with our in house support team on the more technical customer enquiries including the downloading of music.

Be a developer!

You will need to completely familiarise yourself with both our CMS and other open source CMS’s so that you can develop certain aspects of it when needed. For example we may need you to add a menu item to the backend of a website, edit some HTML, tweak some CSS etc. You dont need to be a genius but going that direction is good!

You will be in charge of designing (if you can, not essential if not) and developing a shiny new newsletter for us including working with exsisting services like mail chimp to deliver a high quality service to our exsisting client base.

We are in the process of having our own website rebuilt and you will be required to assist in this. So any HTML, CSS, Javascript experience you have is highly valuable.

This role will grow and change with the company. It really is an exciting time to be working here and you are guarenteed to grow in your role and take on more responsibility as time goes on.

The role is UNPAID for 6 WEEKS. After that you will be put n a salary that exceeds minimum wage. This is a guarentee. If you like us and we like you and you have made a visible effect on the company you can be certain of a paid position.

We are looking to fill this role very quickly so please dont hesitate to get in touch with a personal note and a CV.

Looking forward to meeting the next member of our team!
