Apprentice Dental Nurse
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in Dentistry. An apprentice is sought for a surgery in Gloucester (Cheltenham Road).
You will be required to set-up and prepare the surgery for the type of patient and treatment planned before the start of each session
* Clean and sterilise all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
* Prepare the necessary materials and instruments
* Liaise with reception over necessary future appointments for each patient
* Provide clinical assistance to the dentist/hygienist while treating the patient, acting under his/her supervision
* Continually interpret the needs of patients and dentists/hygienists and deal with them promptly and efficiently
* Assist the dentist/hygienist in the completion of patient records
Part of the daily routine will be to deal with customer enquiries, manage reception desk, cashing up and general housekeeping. As first point of contact within surgery, must be courteous, professional, efficient, well presented and committed to the training program.
This is an apprentice scheme to obtain GDC registration as a Dental Nurse and applicants must have at least grade C GCSE in both English and Maths. Practice, work time will be 32.5 hours per week over 4 days. Time at college is additional and will be paid for.
The program will take approximately 18 months and is paid in line with government apprentice rates.
