Account Manager
Job Description:
VenuesFirst is the venue finding division of The Finishing Touch. Due to the continued growth of this division an opportunity now exists for an Account Manager to join the team. You must possess relevant experience working for a Venue Finding Agency and be a dynamic, flexible, self starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
You will be expected to build your own portfolio of clients as well as working on established accounts and responding to enquiries received via the web site or by phone. You will need appropriate IT skills including a strong working knowledge of excel, word and have some experience of working with databases.
Key Responsibilities
• Providing support to the VenuesFirst Manager
• To receive new enquiries from clients
• To generate new business and develop new clients
• Carry out resourceful and extensive venue searches and confirming with venues and clients
• Establish relationships and negotiate with venues and suppliers
• To develop a working knowledge of our online Venue Finding system
• Budget control
• Recording final invoice totals in order to gain commission
• To be aware of processes and to assist with updating processes where required
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and decrease turnaround times
• General upkeep of our databases and other shared systems
• To help with marketing material including mail outs and website updates
• Flexible approach where some travel and occasional evening work will be required
Personnel Specification
The successful candidate will be/have:
• IT literate (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, website)
• Strong administration skills
• Some Event Management and Venue Finding experience
• Some experience of working with Venue Finding online management systems
• Effective communications skills, written and oral
• Confident and professional working manner
• Proactive, enthusiastic and committed team player
• Ability to plan ahead, recognising potential problems that may hinder progress, providing alternatives to avoid preventable situations
• Plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision
• Methodical and practical approach to working
• Resourceful
• Meticulous presentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure
• Educated to degree level (desirable)
